Basics

The Hylian shield is unique link gameplay element that allows link to block projectiles on a certain part of his body whilst standing or crouching.

Hylian shield takes hit lag but no hitstun or shieldstun.

Uses - While in most cases it is more useful to shield instead of using the hylian shield there are some situations in which it is useful. The most common use for Hylian Shield is when your bomb is reflected or thrown back via throw, powershield, reflected, etc. You are able to regrab the bomb after the Hylian Shield blocks it with jab. You can use hylian shield to block certain projectiles consistently such as Shiek standing needle(standing and crouching), Samus Charge Shot(standing,crouching), Mewtwo Shadow Ball(standing and crouching), Peach Turnip(standing and crouching).

Notes

Crouching while using the Hylian shield will incur less hit lag due to crouch cancel still working while using the Hylian Shield.
